Quiet Hotel in Old Quarter

Very clean modern room with a great shower. Quiet but in the midst of the old quarter, very busy area. Staff very helpful. Internet in the room but no Wifi - have Mac Air make sure you bring the connector. Very good hotel for the $$

Serenade Hotel was very nice

Serenade Hotel was very nice. Room was large and comfortable. Bathroom was fantastic. Room overlooked inner courtyard, so no street noise. Breakfast was fine and included. The only problem I had was with the location. While on the one hand it's fantastic and near the lake in the Hoan Kiem District, on the other, outside the hotel door is a night market. Small thing. I'd just be prepared for it. Entering and leaving the hotel can be a bit hectic: it's good and bad, if you need a shirt and pair of pants, it's right there, but you can be hassled a bit as well. I was there over Independence Day celebrations and watched the fireworks from the rooftop "bar", which is an unattended patio set, but fantastic vantage point.

Perfect located, friendly and helpfull staff

This hotel is very central and in the midle of the nice night markets. Tours and transport booked by hotel staff is a lot cheaper than in the city. And you get quality. Staff is friendly and rooms are 4 star standard. Breakfast is very good and every day different. I would recomend this hotel to everyone. And good value for money.

Old Town Convenience

The hotel was everything it said it was. The staff were friendly, spoke reasonable English and service was great. We had a City View Room which was bigger that most. The AC and Wifi both worked fine. Best feature was the breakfast, it was fantastic, large choice, well presented and best of all a real delight to eat. The only negative was a slightly stale smell in the bathroom. I would happily stay here again.

Very Classy

This was the last stay in our trip to Vietnam and it was a pleasure to stay in such a clean modern hotel after some of the others we had stayed in! Highly recommend this one.

Great place , location, staff and price

Very well located, very clean and friendly, a simple peace heaven in the midst of the busy old quarter. The rooms are recently renovated, well kept and furbished. Great stay. The staff kept our cases when we went off 2 days on Halong Bay. Indeed, we appreciated our stay so we decided to go back there after our boat trip.

The hotel was beautiful

The hotel was beautiful! The location was possibly the best you could get. Extremely close to Hoan Kiem Lake and pupper theatre. We weren't sure where the main toursit area was but it turned out the hotel was right in it!!!! We loved our stay here and would recommend to anyone.

Quiet time at Serenade Hotel

A very good hotel for the money. It was quiet inside which can be welcome after a day on busy Hanoi streets. My tip would be to get the rooms on the interior of the hotel as they do not get the noise from the street although they can be a little dark.

Pretty nice hotel

The hotel is really nice once you walk in to the reception and the room. The staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast was commendable as you can order for the food you like. The hotel is within walking distance to a number of tourist attractions such as the water puppet show and Hoan Kien Lake. I would recommend this hotel and book online through Agoda for special rate promotion.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Water puppet show, Hoan Kiem Lake, Temple, Cathedral, night market and local market are within walking distance.

Impressive 3 star hotel

Excellent location near to the central lake, easy to find when out exploring. Breakfast of a good standard. A very good quality 3 star hotel that is very nearly an excellent boutique hotel.

A superb hotel

Overall a great hotel for the price. The location is wonderful, just a few minutes from the water puppets theatre. Although the rooms are on the small side, they are very nicely decorated and comfortable. They do not all have external windows, but the advantage is the rooms are very quiet, a nice respite from the very busy streets in the old quarter. There is a lot of choice for breakfast. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful, especially the restaurant staff and doormen. I would definitely stay here again.

Second visit

This was our second stay here and it was even better than the first. We got top floor room which had a window with city view, all be it through a brick grill, but it let natural light in. It is a lovely room too. The staff are near the best we have encountered on our holiday. The position is the best there is in Hanoi if you like the real city experience, once outside it full on but then you can retreat back to the hotel so easily without getting a taxi or hasseled by anyone. Then when you have rested up you can go out again really easily, just walk out the door! Its great note having to get transport to do something its all outside the hotel. If you do need to go somewhere there are plenty of taxis out there. The staff will call one for you also if you want.

Excellent Hotel

Overall brilliant hotel. Would stay here again. Very well located near the night market and old quarter. Staff were all very helpful throughout the visit. Much better than the 1st hotel we stayed in in Hanoi. Great quietness from the traffic. Room was very clean and comfortable. Lobby area very clean too. Allowed for a much needed break from the hustle and bustle of Hanoi.

Good central hotel

The excellent location and friendly informative staff were the best features of the hotel. Our room was clean and served us well while we were there, but some minor problems were that the door to the bathroom sticks a little and one of the shower heads sprayed up a bit as well as down. Despite these tiny issues, I'd probably stay here again.

The hotel was a quiet haven.

The location was in the heart of the Old Quarter. The street in front was wild with activity, and inside it was tranquil. The breakfast that was included in the price was extensive and very good. All the employees were pleasant and helpful.

In the heart of the city and value for money

This one is located in Old Quarters, the heart of the city. Everything is nearby - if you are planning to take up the Lonely Planet suggested Hanoi walking trail, this one has the best location. Red bridge, Hoan Kiem lake, Puppet theatre, markets..name it, and is at walking distance. Weekend Night markets are on the same street. Despite the outside road hussles, the hotel is quiet. Breakfast is sumptuous one with decent set of options. The rooms are modern, with all the facilities - including Wifi in the room & LCD TV with plenty of channels to surf. Staff is courteous. Absolutely no complaints, and would be the first choice in my next visit to Hanoi.
